I. Self Identification-In these reincarnation cases, individuals derived a past life identity on their own. This derivation can occur in the following ways:

A. Spontaneous Memories of a Past Lifetime

1. In Childhood-In these cases, children report past life memories as soon as they can speak. Ian Stevenson, MD, at the University of Virginia, has studied 1000 such cases, which he believes are valid. Stevenson’s classic book, Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation, is a must read. In some cases, children who remember past lives give their biologic parents enough detailed information that the past life family can be found and contacted. The child then identifies past life family members by name, even though the child has never met these individuals in their contemporary lifetime. Oftentimes, the past life family accepts the child as the reincarnation of their deceased loved one. Sample cases in this category include:

2. In Adulthood-In these cases, individuals access past life memories in adulthood. Enough information is obtained from these memories that the individual is able to locate and identify the past lifetime historically. Examples include:

• Wayne Peterson/Francesco Foscari-Wayne Peterson is a retired US diplomat and a former director of the Fulbright Scholarship Program, in Washington DC. Mr. Peterson derived that he was Francesco Foscari, a political leader in the Venetian Republic. This case is unpublished, but is featured in Dr. Semkiw’s presentations.
• Wayne Peterson/Louise Vanderbilt-Mr. Peterson also has accessed memories of his past lifetime as Louis Vanderbilt, wife of Frederick Vanderbilt. This case is unpublished, but is featured in Dr. Semkiw’s presentations.
• Karen Pigot/Belle Star-This case is unpublished, but is featured in Dr. Semkiw’s presentations.

B. Memories Accessed through Past Life Regressions-In these cases, individuals accessed past life memories through past life regressions or through meditations. Information gained then led to historical identification of the past incarnation. Sample cases include:

• Robert Snow/Carroll Beckwith
• Bruce Kelly/James Johnston-Bruce Kelly was plagued with claustrophobia and a fear of flying on planes. He went to a past life regression therapist, Rick Brown, in an effort to obtain relief from these phobias. In a regression, Mr. Kelly accessed a past lifetime in which he died in a downed US WWII submarine. He remembered his name, James Johnston, and this past life identity, with photographs, was validated through military records. This case is documented in a book written by the regression therapist involved, Rick Brown, and is entitled, The Reincarnation of James. This case is featured in Dr. Semkiw’s presentations.

C. Intuitive/Spiritual Guidance Leads to Past Life Information-In these cases, individuals are guided, by intuitions or synchronistic events, to information that leads to the identification of a past lifetime. For example, in the cases of Jeff Keene and Robert Snow, these men were guided to geographic locations that led to revelations regarding past lifetimes.

• Jeff Keene/John B. Gordon-In this case, note how Mr. Keene was intuitively led to the Antietam Battlefield and to Sunken Road.
• Robert Snow/Carroll Beckwith-Note how Mr. Snow found the portrait of the hunchback woman, painted by Beckwith, by synchronistic means.

II. Past Life Information Provided by a Medium or Psychic-In these cases, a psychic or a spirit guide, channeled through a medium, revealed past life information that was later historically validated. Dr. Semkiw has worked with Kevin Ryerson, the medium featured in a number of books written by Shirley MacLaine, to derive a dozen cases featured in Return of the Revolutionaries. The spirit guide channeled through Kevin is named Ahtun Re, who has demonstrated an ability to make past life matches that have been validated through forensic means. Examples include:

III. Principles of Reincarnation Used to Hypothesize Matches, then Confirmed Through Kevin Ryerson/Ahtun Re - In these cases, past life matches were hypothesized utilizing principles of reincarnation, such as the observations that from lifetime to lifetime, facial features, personality traits, passions, writing style and karmic groups remain consistent.
