Return of the Revolutionaries

"Born Again: Reincarnation Cases Involving International Celebrities, India's Political Legends and Film Stars"

by Walter Semkiw, MD

Born Again was released in India in 2006 at the Second World Congress on Regression and Past Live Therapy in New Delhi and recieved widespread media attention.  Dr. Semkiw and Sunny Satin, the congress organizer, were interviewed live on CNN and reincarnation graphics from Born Again were aired throughout the day on CNN.  Past life cases involving the President of India, Abdul Kalam, former Prime Minster Jawaharla Nehru, Benazir Bhutto, Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rekha and Shah Rukh Khan were graphically displayed on television screens across the sub continent.  In addition, George W. Bush's past life as US Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan was also aired on CNN.  Born Again also recieved extensive print media attention.

Though Born Again was written for release at the time of the Second World Congress on Regression and Past Life Therapy in India, it is truly a universal book. I am particularly happy that the reincarnation case of Anne Frank/Barbro Karlen is featured, for the first time in any publication with image comparisons.  Barbro's case demonstrates that religion can change from lifetime to lifetime.  Many other cases show this phenomenon, including the cases of Nehru, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.  Further, many cases published by Ian Stevenson, MD, at the University of Virginia, which involve children who spontaneously remember past lifetimes, demonstrate that religoius affiliation can change across incarnations.  In this way, objective evidence of reincarnation brings the promise that violence based on differences in reiligoius, ethnic and racial affiliation will be mitigated and hopefully eliminated over time.

Other celebrities of interest to the Western world featured in Born Again include reincarnation cases involving Oprah, Stephen Spielberg, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Uri Geller, Nostradamus, Shakespeare and one of my favorites, Laurel & Hardy.  Political cases include Ariel Sharon, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Ralph Nader and George Washington.

Om Shanti Om and Born Again

Let me share the history of the connection between Born Again and hit movie on reincarnation, Om Shanti Om.  Two of India's biggest movie stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, are both featured as reincarnation cases in Born Again and their cases had a lot to do with Sunny Satin and I getting on CNN in India.  Sunny is the one who connected me with my publisher there, Rock Furtado, and Sunny is the one who made the suggestions on which Indian personalities to put in the book.  Sunny passed away in 2007.  He was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met and I owe a great debt to Sunny.

When Born Again was released in India in 2006, reporters asked both Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to comment on their proposed past lives.  Shortly after Born Again was released, my publisher, Rock, told me that Shah Rukh Khan was in the middle of making another movie when he left that production to make a fast track movie on reincarnation.  I don't know for sure how much Born Again accounts for Om Shanti Om being made and released in 2007, but it is wonderful that it was produced and that it is so successful.

An important aspect of the movie is a that Shah Rukh Khan is Muslim, while his wife is Hindu.  It is nice having a Muslim be the star of a movie on reincarnation.  One of my greatest hopes is that objective evidence of reincarnation will help make the world a more peaceful place, as reincarnation cases, such as the one involving Anne Frank/Barbro Karlen, demonstrate that religion, nationality and ethnic affiliation can change from one incarnation to another.  A poster promoting Born Again, featuring a quote from Shah Rukh Khan, is provided at the bottom of this page.

Indira Gandhi was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru and grew up knowing the leadership of the twentieth century Indian movement for independence.  As a young woman, she fell in love with Feroze Khan.  Her father did not approve of the inter-caste marriage for various reasons.  Mahatmas Gandhi, it is said, adopted Feroze Khan, giving him his caste and family name, so that the couple could be married.  Click on the image of Indira Gandhi to learn more about her story and about a past lifetime of Ms. Gandhi, in which she was as an early hero of the movement for Indian Independence.

Jawaharial Nehru, born in 1889, served as Prime Minister of India and led his country through the tumultuous early years of India’s independence.  Nehru enjoyed great popularity.  He died in 1964.  In contemporary times, Nehru is once again a respected political leader.

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was chiefly responsible for drafting of The Constitution of India and served as a champion of human rights, acting as a chief advocate of the “untouchables.” In contemporary times, Bhimrao Ambedkar is the grandchild of a well known political figure who is being groomed for political service.

Abdul Kalam-Dr. Kalam the President of India, studied Aeronautical Engineering and he has made significant contributions to India’ satellite program. A scholar, Dr. Kalam has received honorary doctorates from at least thirty universities. A spiritual man, Dr. Kalam reads the Qur’an, the Bhagavad Gita and the Tirukural, a holy book written in the Tamil language by Saint Thiruvalluvar. Dr. Kalam practices vegetarianism, teetotalism and celibacy. In a prior lifetime, Dr. Kalam was also a scientist and spiritual scholar.

Amitabh Bachchan is considered by many to be India’s greatest movie star. He has had a close association with former Indian Prime Minster Indira Gandhi and Mr. Bachchan himself has served in the Indian Parliament. In a past lifetime, Mr. Bachchan was also a prominent and well respected actor.

Shah Rukh Khan is considered Bollywood’s number one heart throb. Dr. Semkiw will present the case of Shah Rukh Khan, in which he is presented as the reincarnation of a cultural icon cherished by the Indian people.
